Giancarlo Petriglia, born in 1973 in Milan, since his early childhood showed a particular attitude towards fashion, accompanied by a great artistic sensibility. He studied at the Naba Academy, graduating with honors, and from there, he immediately starts to work in an important fashion design company : Trussardi. Artistic director and personal assistant of Mrs. Trussardi, Giancarlo quickly distinguished himself for his common sense and careful study of the market, consolidating these skills thanks to the development of the Men’s, Women’s and Accessories collections. After spending eight years in close contact with leading figures of the Maison Trussardi, he continues his experience in different product design companies , making grow day after day his love for accessories. After a close collaboration with important figures representing points of reference in the luxury market, like Nicolas Ghesquière, Vincent Darre ‚, Mariuccia Casadio, just to name a few, Giancarlo decided in September of 2011 to launch his own line of handbags, signing it with his name
Giancarlo Petriglia’s identity is recognisable from its logo: two parallel griffins , which meet a mythological sight. In fact the griffin is the watchdog, the guardian of the gold and the of most precious things on earth, and it’s also the creaure which pulls Apollo’s Chariot. It is from this concept of preciousness that Giancarlo Petriglia’s brand philosophy was originally born and took shape, and the designer summons it up by saying “My aim is simple, i want to create luxurious and glamorous bags.”
Main focus of the collection is the Made in Italy craftsmanship. All his creations are skillfully manufactured in Palermo, Sicily, where the designer re-discovered its mastery as well as the emotions this land is capable of providing.
With the Spring Summer 2013 collection, in 2012, he is the winner of the Who’s on Next 8th edition for the accessory section – event sponsored by Vogue Italia and AltaRoma. Since then the brand has incessantly gained notoriety and recognition as well as a satisfactory distribution of its products throughout the most famous international boutiques.
